During this project, Sixense necs evaluated water and vapour pressures in a porous soil. The objective was to estimate flow, leakage and hydraulic fracturing risks.
Sixense necs evaluated the quality of the results of 2D simulations (axisymmetric or planar) of sections in a soil mass and exothermic material storage site: three-dimensional configuration and anisotropy.
However, during these analyses, no 2D models were satisfactory. However, 2D models are frequently used for this type of simulation, as 3D models are very expensive.
Our experts have therefore developed a technique for projecting temperatures. They are derived from a 3D calculation as a loading for a 2D thermo-hydro-mechanical calculation.
